Ultimate Hunting & Fishing • View topic - Stripers in the Delta

Has anyone heard about how the Striper fishing will be this year in the Sacramento Delta? I was planning on a fishing trip to the delta around October when the Striper fishing really heats up. Hope to catch one this year over 20 lbs.

I fish for stripers along channels of moving water as the tides move in or out and structure (rock pilings being the best). We are catching stripers in Franks Tract and and Big Break. Use some stick baits, pencil poppers, floating raps, or zara spooks. Reel in about 2-4 feet of line reel quick then stop or jerk the lure. They like to smash it when the lure goes dead in the water. Hope this helps.
