We will be hunting elk this fall outside of Pagosa Springs. We have 4 guys total in our hunting camp. Having a few extra folks in our camp would be great. You can buy an over the counter bull elk tag once you get in Colorado. I live in the Bay Area (CA) and if you would like to join us and split the gas out there and back let me know. We are hunting in a elk migration corridor on Devil Mtn on public hunting lands. The sucess in this area is highly dependent on snow fall. Snow drives the bulls down and our chances increases with more snow. No snow means a lot of walking and climbing higher to get up to the bulls above the timberline. We camp at 10,000 and can drive to the campsite. This is not a backpacking trip but if you want to spent a couple of nights above the timberline you can go for it.
